Meet a Hanger Girl!

Meet my Hanger Girls!!!

Mary O' Daniel!

I heard about the hanger from my sister. We walk dogs along bardstown road often and she asked if I had heard of it. I hadn't, so we stopped in...and that's when I saw it, a freaking Star Wars skirt!! I had never seen anything like this before! It was super cute and totally cool. My sister then mentioned that the owner makes all the clothes herself and alters them to fit your body, should you need. That there got my attention. Usually every store is trying to charge for every little thing, and I just thought it was so awesome that she understood that a lot of people don't have a lot of money, but still like to dress nice. I'm still going to go back and get a long cloth skirt I've had my eye on. I've had the pleasure of getting to know the owner and this woman is amazing. She is going places, great places. She is so inspiring and really has a good head on her shoulders. I will support in any way I can!

So many of you know I am a seamstress and obviously have tons of fabric just laying around as well as a strapping creative sense! So I wanted to bring part of my world into my wedding with fabric flowers! We are mixing all textures and styles of fabric and flowers!

So here are a couple ways to make the flowers that I made for my wedding!

My flowers below! The Red Picture is a description of how to make them!

Hanger Girl Obsessions! Dying Fabric!

Hello Hanger Girls!

There are so many ways to re-purpose your clothing and Dying is my favorite!!!!

Here are the basics!

I prefer to dye in my stainless steel sink as opposed to on the stove! Less to clean up and Stainless does not stain... go figure!

I like to start off by boiling water in a large pot and then pouring it into your sink. Add more hot water (as hot as it comes out of your tap) to fill the rest of your sink. Add your colors and mix well.I always add some salt and a splash of vinegar which will help seal the color into the fabric.

Also I would suggest to use a scrap piece of fabric as well! you don't want to ruin your project if you could have prevented it!

Add your fabric and mix every ten or so minutes until you get the color you want.  If you are wanting a light color, stick around 'cause the color will finish rather quickly, but if you want something dark, you have time to get other things done while it soaks. Your time to dye is depending on your item and how dark you want it. When you get the color you like, take it out, rinse it and pop it in the washer to get out the extra dye. After it dries you are done!

 Good luck!

Ombre'  is also a cool option for clothing! I am planning on dying a lot of fabrics soon!  We will have tutorials later on this!

Fashion Fridays!!! Bubble Neckalces!

My favorite way to sport a Bubble Necklace..... drum roll........ With a White Dress or Top!

Why you ask???? Well it allows the color to have the greatest contrast which allows it to show off better!

Fashion Fridays!!! How do I wear Colored Pants???

How do I pull off colored pants?

Common question I get a lot!!

I think its important to not over think the outfit too much! You are wearing an awesome pair of colored pants for goodness sake! How much more fabulous can you become??

Here are some of my style examples:

 1. You can think of your colored denim as an opportunity to wear your cute denim jacket! Because we all know mixing denims can be hit or miss. If you were only wearing this jacket before with khakis or a maxi skirt, well here is a new opportunity for it to shine!
2. See this outfit is perfect! A teal colored pant, white peplum top, bangle, nuetral heels and bag and the most fun are the big sun glasses. That Peplum top should not scare you! I think it is the perfect look for every body type! It adds curves but conceals them at the same time!

3. This outfit below is for the more adventurous girl! I love this girl and I love this outfit! I love that she is not scared to mix a big bold chevron print with a coral pant! I want to know where she is going and get there fashionably late myself!  Again a pair of big sunglasses makes the outfit complete! Don't over accessorize!

Hanger Girl Obsessions! Wedding time!!

Something Blue Hanger

Wedding Series!

Road to the Altar, Part 1

I was asked how to plan a wedding by the woman at the post office the other day and realized that many women are not as obsessed with wedding shows and are not involved everyday in helping brides make decisions so here is my advice! one step at a time!

As any of you know I am getting married in September! I couldn't be more excited!! I am marring my best friend and equal in my life! I have been looking at cakes, decor, invites, etc. for what feels like forever and i am finally narrowing everything down. I want to show you some of my obsessions for the wedding and share some ideas over the next few months!

So today!

I used 123print.com to get my invites!

We also got our save the dates through this site as well.

Remember to tie everything together when choosing your invites!

Allow your personality to shine through.

Also let the guest know the feel of your wedding with your invite.. what to expect/ what to wear..etc

For our wedding, Ryan and I were looking to have some good old fashion FUN! Fun is not the theme but the essence of our wedding! So we have the  "Eat Drink and Be Married" Concept for the invites. We also mentioned on there to have the derby style- bow ties and fascinators encouraged!! We are getting married at a golf course that is gorgeous but to some will seem to be far in the country so we made sure to include directions from the major highways close to the event!

Our invites and RSVP cards were under $100 including shipping!

Check out this site 123print.com!! They have lots of options informal to formal!

Here is my template! Don't worry its not my information!
