Meet a Hanger Girl!

Meet my Hanger Girls!!!

Mary O' Daniel!

I heard about the hanger from my sister. We walk dogs along bardstown road often and she asked if I had heard of it. I hadn't, so we stopped in...and that's when I saw it, a freaking Star Wars skirt!! I had never seen anything like this before! It was super cute and totally cool. My sister then mentioned that the owner makes all the clothes herself and alters them to fit your body, should you need. That there got my attention. Usually every store is trying to charge for every little thing, and I just thought it was so awesome that she understood that a lot of people don't have a lot of money, but still like to dress nice. I'm still going to go back and get a long cloth skirt I've had my eye on. I've had the pleasure of getting to know the owner and this woman is amazing. She is going places, great places. She is so inspiring and really has a good head on her shoulders. I will support in any way I can!

Road to the Altar Part Two! Flowers!! DIY WEDDING!

So many of you know I am a seamstress and obviously have tons of fabric just laying around as well as a strapping creative sense! So I wanted to bring part of my world into my wedding with fabric flowers! We are mixing all textures and styles of fabric and flowers!

So here are a couple ways to make the flowers that I made for my wedding!

My flowers below! The Red Picture is a description of how to make them!

Below are my flowers and the link is the video i used to learn how to make them!

Hanger Girl Obsessions! Dying Fabric!

Hello Hanger Girls!

There are so many ways to re-purpose your clothing and Dying is my favorite!!!!

Here are the basics!

I prefer to dye in my stainless steel sink as opposed to on the stove! Less to clean up and Stainless does not stain... go figure!

I like to start off by boiling water in a large pot and then pouring it into your sink. Add more hot water (as hot as it comes out of your tap) to fill the rest of your sink. Add your colors and mix well.I always add some salt and a splash of vinegar which will help seal the color into the fabric.

Also I would suggest to use a scrap piece of fabric as well! you don't want to ruin your project if you could have prevented it!

Add your fabric and mix every ten or so minutes until you get the color you want.  If you are wanting a light color, stick around 'cause the color will finish rather quickly, but if you want something dark, you have time to get other things done while it soaks. Your time to dye is depending on your item and how dark you want it. When you get the color you like, take it out, rinse it and pop it in the washer to get out the extra dye. After it dries you are done!

 Good luck!

Ombre'  is also a cool option for clothing! I am planning on dying a lot of fabrics soon!  We will have tutorials later on this!

Fashion Fridays!!! Bubble Neckalces!

My favorite way to sport a Bubble Necklace..... drum roll........ With a White Dress or Top!

Why you ask???? Well it allows the color to have the greatest contrast which allows it to show off better!
